One of Shopian rape victims a virgin: Autopsy

Shopian, Sep 29: Exhuming the bodies of the Shopain double murder victims has succeeded in giving a new lead to the investigation. The autopsy report has revealed that the one of the two rape and murder victims was a virgin.

The autopsy of the exhumed bodies revealed that the hymen of the 17-year-old Aasiya Jan was intact which rules out the possibility of rape.

Official sources on Tuesday, Sep 29 said that the forensic scientists from AIIMS have shown the intact hymen to doctors of Mushawarat Majlis-e-Committee, which led the agitation against the alleged rape and murder of the two women by Indian soldiers.

After four months of the incident the bodies of the victim were exhumed on Monday, Sep 28 and a special CBI forensic team collected samples from the bodies.
