MIC urges Malay-Indians to be watchful of divisive parties

Kuala Lumpur, Sep. 29 (ANI): Malaysian Indian Congress vice-president M. Saravanan has urged Indians to stay united and be watchful of those who want to split the community.

The Star Online quoted Saravanan as saying that the mushrooming of many Indian political parties would result in a greater split in the community, leading to the loss of benefits from the Government.

Saravanan, who is also Deputy Federal Territories Minister, added that the new political parties must work towards solving problems faced by the community and not seek cheap publicity by degrading other parties.

Saravanan said Indians must work together to achieve goals set up for the community.

He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cultural festival at the Kampung Simee Tamil School in Ipoh on Saturday. (ANI)
