Confucius's 2,560th birthday commemorated at his birthplace
New Delhi, September 28 (ANI): Great ancient Chinese thinker and philosopher Confucius' 2,560th birthday was commemorated with a grand ceremony at his birth place on Monday.
Over 10,000 people attended the ceremony at the Confucius Temple in Qufu, east China's Shandong Province.
A Xinhua agency's report, published by chinaview.cn, reveals that those attending the ceremony included Confucius' descendants, scholars and representatives from foreign embassies in China and international organizations.
Confucius and his disciples advocated positive self-discipline, healthy living, maintaining harmony in family life, peace and order in the country, peace in the world.
His thoughts are still studied worldwide. (ANI)
