BBC stuns Brown with a pill taking question
London, Sep.28 (ANI): A heated row has cropped up between 10, Downing Street and BBC after a reporter shocked the Prime Minister during a live television interview on the opening day of Labour's annual conference in Brighton by asking whether he took pills to help him "get through".
Brown's aides last night said they were amazed that despite issuing denials to an internet rumor in recent weeks, and specifically to the BBC, the reporter - Andrew Marr still went ahead and asked the question.
Marr asked "Something everybody has been talking about in the Westminster village... A lot of people in this country use prescription painkillers and pills to help them get through. Are you one of them?"
According to The Telegraph, a stunned Brown replied: "No. I think this is the sort of questioning which is all too often entering the lexicon of British politics."
Attempts to return to the issue were summarily cut off by a clearly irritated Brown who said: "I've already answered that question." (ANI)
