TCS wins 5-year project from AP government
Hyderabad, Sep 24: While the IT giants are trying to get their hands on government projects to stay afloat during recession, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has managed to do just that, by securing a five year project with Andhra Pradesh government.
The leading IT service provider has won the country's largest state-wide area network (SWAN) for the fourth time in a row. The project is based on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) model.
The project is expected to be completed by a year and the company will be maintaining it for five year. The proposed SWAN project is intended to enable the state government to initiate and run various e-governance projects and citizen services.
TCS is currently implementing SWAN projects in Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Bihar.
