Hamas foiled Carter-Blair murder plans

Jerusalem, Sep 8: A Gaza based pro Al-Qaeda group admitted that 'moderate' Hamas, which controls Gaza strip had foiled their plans to kill former US president Jimmy Carter and ex-British Premier Tony Blair.

The Jerusalem Post reported that Mahmoud Taleb, a former commander of Hamas' armed wing Izzadin Kassam described these two leaders as 'infidels', and claimed that Hamas forces had arrested his followers, who tried to kill Carter and Blair.

"The hands of Carter and Blair are stained with Muslim blood," Taleb wrote in a recent email message sent to London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

"It was our duty to kill the two".

He said Osama bin Laden to be the 'emir' and 'guardian' of all Muslims and confessed his own group to be pro Al-Qaeda.

Taleb's group, which is called Jaljalat (Thunder) is suspected to be behind last week's bomb explosions outside two of Hamas security installations in Gaza City.
