Chennai students eye record, perform yoga for three hrs

Chennai, Sep 8 (ANI): A group of four students seek entry into Limca book of records by performing yoga for 180 minutes in Chennai.

The students of city's Velamal Matriculation Higher Secondary School struck 999 yoga postures in a bid to get registered in the Limca Book of Records.

The event was held as part of the school's 'Save the Earth 99999 Lights out' campaign to spread awareness amongst the students and masses about global warming.

"The main objective of arranging this programme is to propagate the double nine and triple nine concepts to the students as well as to the public in and round Chennai. Double nine and triple nine is nothing but to create awareness about global warming. We are going to tell all the students to tell their parents and relatives to switch off their lights. Indirectly it will help to avoid this global warming," said P.Prabakaran, Principal of the school.

The school authorities hope this initiative will help sensitise people about the threat of global warming and its far-reaching impact on the ecology. (ANI)
