Assamese protest against cattle smuggling to Bangladesh
Dhubri (Assam), Aug 29 (ANI): Resident in Dhubri district of Assam organised a protest against cattle being smuggled across the border to Bangladesh.
The protest was organised by the Asomiya Yuva Manch (Assam youth organisation).he protestors who assembled with their cattle demanded that the Assam government should act against the cattle smuggling, which they said had become rampant.
"Smugglers smuggle cattle daily in the registered boats between Dhubri and Bangladesh and now the problem has become so serious that we have appealed to the government to stop the menace," said Jitul Deka, general secretary of the organization.
Other organisation like the All Assam Students Union has been raising this issue for quite a long time. (ANI)
