AU punishes eight LLB students for ragging
Allahabad, Aug 28: The Allahabad University (AU) has severely punished eight LLB seniors involved in ragging juniors on the campus.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen G Harshe, and Students Welfare Prof R K Singh took the decision on Thursday, Aug 27 to impose a fine of Rs 20,000 on two LLB students, who were found guilty of ragging two students of first-year LLB.
The other six students who were present when the incident took place were asked to write a book review. The accused have also been expelled from the hostel for the current academic session.
In the incident that took place on Aug 18, the two accused - Animesh and Sridhar Sundarum, second-year students of the LLB five-year integrated programme ragged the first-year student.
