Asha Bhosle releases music album in Kolkata

Kolkata, Aug 22 (ANI): Legendary singer Asha Bhosle released a music album dedicated to Goddess Durga, a month prior to the Durga Puja festival in Kolkata.

Asha Audio has brought out this music album.

Popular crooner Usha Uttap and music director Babul Bose were present on the occasion.

Bhosle, who is singing devotional (puja) songs after a hiatus of fifteen years, went nostalgic when she said that after her husband R D Burman popularly called Pancham passed away, she thought she won't be singing puja songs anymore, but it was the music director Babul Bose who persuaded her to sing and record the songs again.

"My first puja song was with R D Burman and it really did well. Thereafter I and R D Burman decided that we will do puja songs every year," said Bhosle.

The special puja albums recorded by Asha Bhosle earlier included 'Phule Gondho Nei', 'Sandhyabelay Tumi Ami' and 'Nach Mayuri Nach', all considered evergreen classics by connoisseurs of Bengali music. (ANI)
