PM condoles passing away of Haryana Minister Kartar Devi

New Delhi, Aug 17 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has condoled the passing away of Haryana Cabinet Minister Kartar Devi.

In his condolence message to Devi's brother Faqir Chand, Dr. Singh said, "I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of your sister and Haryana Cabinet Minister Kartar Devi."

"Devi dedicated her life to the cause of the downtrodden. Throughout her illustrious political career, she worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people of Haryana, as an MLA from Kalanaur and as Minister in the State Government. She led by example and her life and work continue to inspire people to selfless service," he added.

"In this hour of grief, I convey my heart felt condolences to you and the other near and dear ones of Devi. I pray for peace of the departed soul," the Prime Minister said. (ANI)
