'US finding it impossible to deal with "corrupt" Pak army infiltrated by radicals'
Lahore, Aug. 8 (ANI): Pakistan's political and security conditions are increasingly deteriorating from the US point of view, former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton has said.
The Daily Times quoted Bolton, as saying that US leaders had erred in facilitating the ouster of former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf - an American ally.
In his interview with the Fox News 'On The Record' programme, Bolton said the country's army couldn't be relied upon, as the there was a widespread "corruption unquestionably".
"Perhaps even worse infiltration of the army itself by Muslim radicals, by Taliban supporters, and that obviously make it very hard to deal with at a tactical level," he said.
As these pro-Taliban extremists rose through the ranks in the intelligence agencies and the military, the situation was becoming more difficult, he added. (ANI)
