Maoists blow village head's house in Gaya
Gaya (Bihar), July 29 (ANI): Armed Maoist rebels blew up the house of a village head in Gaya district of Bihar.
According to Police about fifty ultras belonging to Communist Party of India (Maoist) raided Nadaura village on Monday night and used dynamite to blow up the house of Rajendra Yadav.
"About 40-50 armed rebels from nearby village came together and blew up the house of Rajendra Yadav, who is head of Nadaura village. They vacated the occupants from the house and also took all the things out of the house," said Ranjan Prasad, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Sherghati town in Gaya district.
Police said that there were no casualties and raids are on to nab the culprits.
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has described the Maoists as the biggest internal security challenge since independence.
Earlier, the Government at the Centre banned and formally labelled the Maoist insurgents "a terrorist group", hoping it would give security forces more enforcement powers after the rebels briefly created a "liberated zone" in West Bengal. (ANI)
