11 more militants killed in Swat, 28 arrested
Islamabad, July 27 (ANI): Taking its offensive forward on Monday, the Pakistan Army killed eleven militants killed and arrested 28, including wanted militant commander Kabir in the Swat and Malakand divisions.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations media release, two militants handed over themselves to security forces in Fizagat near Mingora. One militant was killed and two arrested near Khawazakhela. Seven hideouts were also destroyed.
Four suspects were arrested and arms were recovered from their possession in Chor Banda.
In Dir, six suspected militants were arrested. The National Lashkar killed ten militants and arrested six during action in Karodara, Chopra and Kandao.
The ISPR said seven terrorists belonged to Sufi Muhammad group handed themselves over to the civil administration in Mohmand Agency.
Monday's operations came two days after at least 21 Taliban fighters were killed in Swat and Lower Dir regions of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Six insurgents were also nabbed during separate raids in the region.
Sources said 16 militants were killed in Lower Dir, but the casualties could not be confirmed.
In Bajaur, helicopter gun ships had bombarded a suspected Taliban training center and headquarters of local terrorists in Charmang area.
In a separate incident in the area two Taliban fighters were killed and four others were wounded in heavy mortar shelling carried out by the security forces. (ANI)
