Rawalpindi, July 25 (ANI): At least 21 Taliban fighters have been killed in Swat and Lower Dir regions of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), as security forces continued to pound extremist hideouts in the area.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), military officials nabbed six insurgents during raids in the region.
"Security forces conducted a search operation at Surgulai and Syed Piranda Baba Ziarat and killed two terrorists," an ISPR statement said.
However, sources said 16 militants were killed in Lower Dir, but the casualties could not be confirmed.
Sources said all the terrorists were killed in Maidan, the home town of pro-Taliban cleric Sufi Muhammad.
