Government of India tighten immigration laws
Chennai, June 27(ANI): Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Vayalar Ravi, on Saturday said that a bill for tightening immigration laws for Indians moving overseas would be finalised in the next two to three months.
"The bill, whose draft was ready, would contain penal provisions against unscrupulous agents," said Vayalar Ravi.
The bill will provide more power to the state police to deal with such persons.
However, Vayalar Ravi declined to elaborate the proposal but mentioned that meetings will be held with stakeholders including the law ministry. (ANI)
