Brit woman jailed for adultery in Dubai released
London, June 17 (ANI): A British mother jailed for adultery in Dubai has been freed and reunited with husband who turned her in.
Sally Antia, the British mother-of-two, has reportedly flown to Australia with her husband, Vincent, after serving six weeks of a two-month jail sentence.
"Although she is British and could have flown to the UK, she decided to fly to Brisbane instead. She and Vincent were booked on the same plane," Times Online quoted a source as saying.
Antia was arrested last month after her husband made the complaint to police in the emirate, where adultery is a crime.
Both she and her lover Mark Hawkins, a construction worker from the UK, were sentenced to two months in jail followed by deportation.
But in an astonishing turn of events, instead of returning to her native Britain after serving her sentence, Antia went to Australia with her husband when she was released from prison.
The move could be a permanent one because Antia will not be allowed to return to Dubai. (ANI)
