US asks Pak to bring perpetrators of Mumbai attacks to justice
Washington, Jun.4 (ANI): The United States has asked Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks to justice, and assure the international community that it is acting aggressively against extremist elements within its borders.
Talking to reporters here, US Assistant Secretary of State Philip J. Crowley said Pakistan should continue its investigation into the Mumbai attacks and ensure that all perpetrators are booked soon.
"Well, we continue to impress upon the Government of Pakistan the importance of bringing the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks to justice. We believe the Government of Pakistan should continue its investigation to ensure that all those who are responsible for the attack are, in fact, brought to justice," The News quoted Crowley, as saying.
Referring to the exodus of over three million people due to the Swat military offensive, Crowley said Washington is aware about its responsibilities, and is doing everything to help Pakistan come out of the crisis.
"We along with other countries are trying to make sure that we can help build capacity within the Pakistan Government to be able to support its population during this difficult time," he added. (ANI)
