British adultery couple sentenced to two months in Dubai jail

London, June 3 (ANI): A British couple has been jailed in Dubai for committing adultery.

Sally Antia and her lover Mark Hawkins were arrested May 2 after leaving the 5-star Radisson Creek Hotel in Dubai. Antia's husband, Vincent, alerted the police to his wife's infidelity.

They have been sentenced to two months in jail, to be followed by deportation.

Antia, 44, appeared before judges at a brief hearing along with her boyfriend, Mark Hawkins, and both admitted meeting up in the hotel.

Antia was not represented by a lawyer and did not comment as handcuffs were placed on her wrist outside the hearing.

Hawkins' lawyer, Ayman Merdas, was pleased with the sentence, which would allow them to return home soon.

"It is a good result for them," the Telegraph quoted Merdas as saying. (ANI)
