Train mishap in Tamil Nadu, 6 killed
Chennai, Apr 29: At least six people were killed and 8 injured when a passenger train collided with a goods train in suburban Vyasarpadi of Chennai on Wednesday, Apr 29.
The passenger train from Chennai and the goods train from Arakkonam collided at Jeevanagar railway station at 5.50 am Wednesday, Apr 29 morning, resulting in a fire.
The tragedy occurred when the speeding local train changed tracks hitting the goods train coming from the opposite direction. Media reports suggest that unauthorised men were driving the local train.
More causalities are feared. The railway services in this busy route is hit by the mishap.
