President Patil's brings memorable moments for NRI women in Poland

Krakow (Poland), April 26: (ANI): While the visit of the President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to Poland may have its diplomatic importance, for a lot of women of Indian origin here it has added unforgettable moments to their lives.

Patils's arrival in Krakow made the non-resident Indian (NRI) women quite thrilled to see first Indian woman President Pratibha Patil visiting Poland.

On Saturday, the President landed at Krakow Airport of Poland, the last stopover of her week-long tours to Spain and Poland, the two important countries of Europe.

Jerry Miller, the Governor of district Malopolska, received the President at Krakow Airport.

President Patil along with her high-level delegation then visited the historic Jagiellonian University here.

The President was welcomed by Karol Musiol headmaster of the Jagiellonian University, with the other officials.

During her visit to the University the President met with the Indian community residing in Poland.

The NRI women audience looked quite ecstatic to have the first woman President of India among them.

There are nearly a thousand Indians residing in Poland and most of them are in service in different sectors in Poland.

"She is the first woman President of India and I am thrilled to see her so near and moreover in my city," said Amrita Ray, a student of medicine in the Europe's second oldest university.

"No one believes here that we have a woman President in India, I corrected them and invited them to come here and see our President, said Ms. Dass, a research scholar in Bio technology, and added that having a lady President is an honour, privilege and a matter of pride.

At the university, there were a few Polish students learning Hindi in the university.

Marjina, one such Polish student doing post graduation in Hindi said that she along with her friends had long been waiting for this event. "It makes me very proud to have somebody like her, the first lady of India is in our University." By Ravinder Singh Robin(ANI)
