Rahul Gandhi blames LTTE for father's assassination

Kolkata, Apr 25 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Saturday blamed the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assissination.

"The LTTE is banned. It is a terrorist organisation personally responsible for killing my father," Rahul said during a 'Meet the Press' programme here.

When asked about the Sri Lankan crisis, Rahul Gandhi said India is concerned about the plight of Tamil civilians.

"Tamil civilians are suffering because of the war taking place. It is also India's duty to reduce sufferings of the Tamil civilians. We are concerned about the plight of the Tamil civilians. We have to reduce their sufferings," he added. (ANI)
