Lahore, Apr.17 (ANI): The United States has already made it clear that the financial aid to Pakistan would not go unchecked, and now strengthening its 'no blank cheque' stance the Obama Administration is considering appointing a special Inspector General for Pakistan to supervise its proposed aid on the lines of Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to The Daily Times, the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, Stuart Bowen, has proposed setting up of the office to ensure that Washington's aid is spent according to its priorities.

Bowen said that the US should apply the lessons it learnt in Iraq to Pakistan and Afghanistan both.

"The biggest lesson was that the aid money needed to be under thorough and effective monitoring," he added. (ANI)
