Army assures peace and security during polls
New Delhi, Apr 14: The Army chief General Deepak Kapoor claimed that there is no Taliban infiltration in the Kashmir region on Tuesday, Apr 14. And added that there are reports on Women being trained across the border to infiltrate into India.
Confirming that there is no Taliban in the Country he said that any element be it from LeT (Lashkar-e-Toiba), JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammad), and HuJI (Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami) will be dealt with seriously.
He said that the security forces had foreseen that security of the country may be at risk at the time of elections and that they were prepared for it.
"We are quite confident that we will be able to meet this situation and are quite sure that people will be able to exercise their franchise in a peaceful and stable environment as had happened for assembly elections," Kapoor added.
