Pak Taliban chief threatens "spectacular" strike in Washington that will amaze the world
Dera Ismail Khan (Pakistan), Mar.31 (ANI): The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud has warned of a spectacular terror strike on Washington in the near future.
"Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world," Mehsud told a foreign news agency over telephone, Fox News reports.
Mehsud also claimed responsibility for Monday's terror strike on the Lahore police training academy.
"Yes, we have carried out this attack. I will give details later," Mehsud said.
At least 27 persons were killed and over 90 injured when 10-12 gunmen barged inside the training camp and opened fired indiscriminately. The attackers had also held hostage about 800 police cadets
Mehsud is already wanted by the United States, and it had also announced a reward of five million dollars to anyone revealing the whereabouts of the TTP chief.
He is also considered to have masterminded the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. (ANI)
