Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party releases first list of candidates
Hyderabad, Mar 27 (ANI): Actor-turned politician and chief of Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) Chiranjeevi today released its first list of 95 candidates for the Assembly polls and nine for the Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh.
Chiranjeevi, who is currently on a campaign tour in East Godavari district, released the list at Jaggampet.
His name is prominent in the list with several other top leaders too finding a place.
Chiranjeevi will be contesting Assembly election from Tirupati, where he launched his party on August 26, 2008.
Another list is expected to be released later in the evening.
India will hold a five-phased general election between April 16 and May 13, kicking off a mammoth process in which 714 million people will be eligible to cast their votes.
Counting of ballots would take place on May 16. (ANI)
