Dr. Shan Nair will join International NGO for a three-year term

New Delhi, Mar 26 (ANI/Business Wire India): Dr. Shan Nair has been elected by the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Institute as the President for a three-year term.

NRI Institute is an internationally recognized organization that was founded 20 years ago and provides a platform for effective communication and dialogue towards the Indian and other Government and authorities. The Institute highlights the achievements of NRIs and PIOs in their chosen field of activities.

The NRI Institute has organized numerous international events and conventions around the globe including India, U.K., Thailand, Singapore, Dubai and the United States.

Dr. Shan Nair is joining the distinguished executive NRI Institute team including Udai Patel, International Chairman; Ylias Akbaraly, International, Co Chairman, Dr.S.K.Pachuri (IAS), National Chairman; M. S. Chawla, National Senior Vice- Chairman; Vijay Prakash Saha, National Vice- Chairman; Siddharth Sikka, National Secretary; and Mrs. Neloufer Tekchand, National Director, Jagmohan Singh, Secretary General.

Award winning businessman Dr. Shan Nair is a highly sought after speaker on globalization, a contributing author for various publications and considered an expert in international expansion.

Since first founding Nair and Co. in 1994, Dr. Nair now leads up the strategic operations and global group expansion for the company and has driven the company's strong focus on using IT to leverage business advantage. Today, his company which is headquartered in the United Kingdom has offices in India, China, the United States and Japan and currently acts for over 700 foreign operations in over 40 countries.

With more than 350 employees globally, Dr. Nair's success is evident in that nearly 75 per cent of executives at the company have been seven years or longer at Nair and Co., excluding the most recent recruitment initiative. Also, under Dr. Nair's guidance, Nair and Co. has been named as Top 100 Outsourcing Service Provider in the World by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).

Dr. Nair is an Oxford University Ph.D. nuclear physicist and was instrumental in developing a code which set the U.K. standard for calculating waste arising from spent nuclear fuel. When the Chernobyl accident occurred, he was one of the two U.K. technical experts selected to assist the European Commission on its post-accident response.

Dr. Nair has received recognition to honor his success in business including the 2008 Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award; the 2008 Bharat Samman Pravasi Award; 2009 Hind Rattan Award; and the 2008 Pride of India Award in London.

Dr. Nair, who has lived in 13 countries in South East Asia, Europe and the Middle East, has over 20 years of work experience. He is a long-standing Charter Member of TiE-Boston, a trustee of the Canterbury School in Fort Myers, Florida and a regular contributor to charitable causes in India. (ANI)
