Manipur protests killing of government staff
Bishnupur (Imphal), Mar 6 (ANI): The killing of sub-divisional officer Dr. Thingnam Kishan and his two staffers has left the people of Manipur angry and dismayed.
Several public meetings and demonstrations have been held to register frustration over the killings.The Joint Action Committee (JAC) and the United Club Organisation organized a mass rally in Bishnupur district recently.
"Our demand is to book the guilty persons those who are involved in the incident," said Y. Khemchand Singh, JAC, Convenor.N. Sarat Singh, the President of the United Club Organisation in Bishnupur District said: "We are demanding from the Manipur Government and the Indian Government, taking into account the law of the land, that the culprits should be given suitable punishment as per its legal aspect."
The JAC has stated that it will continue with its agitation. Militants have disrupted normal life in Manipur. (ANI)
