Prince Harry likened to Cruise's Top Gun's 'Maverick' by flying instructors

London, Mar 2 (ANI): Prince Harry has been likened to Top Gun's Maverick, played by Tom Cruise in the 1986 film.

Flying instructors believe that the Royal is an 'instinctive pilot' just like the trainee fighter ace in the flick, reports the Sun.

A source at the Army flying unit's HQ in Middle Wallop, Hants, said: "Ultimately Harry's flair could carry him through too."

Harry had trouble remembering checks and procedures and was rated 'average' overall.

His instructor predicted that he would struggle with ground school during his two-year Army Air Corps helicopter training - and sure enough Harry failed a maths exam in his first week.

The 24-year-old was put on 'Ground Warning One' and is having extra tuition before a retake.

However, Harry, hoping to fly Apache attack choppers, can take heart from the movie. (ANI)
