Western diplomats predict bad times in Pakistan

Islamabad, Feb. 28 (ANI): In the wake of Governor's rule being imposed in Punjab, diplomats have alerted their respective governments about the worsening political situation in Pakistan and its possible negative impact on the global war on terror.

Western capitals have asked their envoys to dispatch detailed reports about Pakistan with regard to the political turmoil. In their reports, some diplomats have indicated that if the clash accelerats, Pakistan's fragile democracy could be exposed to new dangers. They also said that the Armed Forces are unwilling to intervene for the time being.

Although the envoys have noticed the ruling PPP's desperation to restore stability in Punjab, they are not hopeful about a resolution, The News reports.

Diplomats have expressed fears tat if the domestic situation worsens, law enforcement agencies would naturally sucked in, and this would have a negative bearing on the fight against the extremism.

Official circles have also told western diplomats that the PPP has almost finalised a deal with its former arch rival the PML-Q led by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to attain requisite numbers for forming of the new government in Punjab.

As soon as the deal is finalized, Governor rule in the province would be lifted.
