Indian Foreign Secretary in Nepal

Kathmandu, Feb 17 (ANI): Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon arrived here on a two-day visit to Nepal.

Talking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Menon said he came here to gain information on Nepal's peace process and the Constitution drafting process.

During his visit, Menon will meet Prime Minister Prachanda to discuss the present political situation.

The issues regarding army integration, progress in drafting the new Constitution and India's support in reducing load shedding are included in his agenda, Nepalnews reported.

Besides meeting Prachanda, Menon will also meet Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav and the Nepali Congress President. Girija Prasad Koirala.

Menon is also scheduled to meet the Madhesi party leaders to get their perspective on the mounting unrest in the Terai plains.

Menon had visited Nepal in November last year along with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee. (ANI)
