16 fear dead in Brazil plane crash

Brasilia, Feb 8: Reports suggest that a small plane heading to the jungle city of Manaus crashed in Brazil's Amazon on Saturday, Feb 7. Officals said that the plane had atleast 20 people on board of which 16 are missing and feared dead.

Sources said that four people are rescued. Local media reports suggest that divers had found 6 bodies by nightfall. The state government spokesperson said that the plane was being used as an 'air taxi' to ferry passengers between cities in the thick jungle, when it crashed in the Manacapuru river about 80 km southwest of Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state.

Reports suggest that the survivors told the officials that they saw one of the plane's motors stop.
