Vishnu Prakash, the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson told media, "It is indeed unfortunate that such an incident has taken place in Lahore."

He added that the Indian High Commission in Pakistan has already informed to the concerned authorities in Islamabad. Vishnu Prakash said that the concerns which resulted in the formation of travel advisory of Dec 26, 2008 still very much exist and advised that it would be unsafe for the Indian travellers to travel to Pakistan.

Sources said that a formal complaint has been lodged in Islamabad over the incident, in which special mention is made that the attack could not be the handiwork of local goons. The NewsX team later returned to India.
