It will take time to root out Taliban from Swat: ISPR
Lahore, Feb.5 (ANI): The military offensive being carried out in the Swat valley to disentangle the militants and their training camps from the region would take some time to yield the desired result, The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
ISPR spokesman Maj Gen Athar Abbas while accepting the fact that the war against the Taliban in the region is difficult, said that it (military operation) would require more time and patience for the preferred results to be obtained.
"No immediate results can be expected from the military operation in Swat, it will take time," The Daily Times quoted Abbas, as saying.
He added that the foreign militants were also present in the Valley and lending a helping hand to the Taliban.
Abbas said that due to the fear of the Taliban, local people were hesitant to help the security forces, which was proving detrimental to the forces in carrying out an all out attack on the extremists in the region. (ANI)
