12 lakh commuters hit by rail roko in Mumbai
Mumbai, Feb 4: Around 12 lakh commuters were stranded at Borivali station in Mumbai, after the 9:10 AM local train was cancelled on Wednesday, Feb 4.
Train services on the suburban line of Western Railway were disrupted after some commuters blocked tracks demanding more trains.
Mumbai has come to a standstill as large number of people have been halted at Borivali station. Mumbai local trains is the lifeline to Mumbaikars.
Services on the slow tracks were blocked after commuters refused to allow trains to operate, demanding more up and down locals from Borivali and Churchgate, railway police said.
Trains were disrupted from 9 20 am and people are still being cleared from the tracks. The trains will resume services as soon as the police and railway police are able to get the angry commuters off the tracks.
Trains on Borivali-Virar route have been affected.
