Satyam fraud: PwC partners arrested
Hyderabad, Jan 24: Two top officials of auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers were arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police on Saturday, Jan 24. This is the first arrests at the audit major in connection with the financial fraud revealed by disgraced ex CEO of Satyam Computers Ramalinga Raju.
PwC's chief relationship partner S Gopalkrishnan and Engagement Leader Srinivas Taluri are the arrested by the state Criminal Investigation Department. The police had earlier questioned Gopalakrishnan.
SFIO had interrogated the partners before the arrest, sources said. PwC had said that its auditing of Satyam accounts may not be reliable given Raju's disclosure of falsifying profits.
