Lahore, Jan.24 (ANI): Putting down the speculation about Pakistan asking for the extradition of Col. Purohit, allegedly involved in the Samjhauta Express incident, Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that it would not demand his extradition from India as the two countries do not have any treaty in place for it.

"We do not have any extradition treaty with India to exchange accused," Gilani said.

Addressing a press conference at the airport here, he said Pakistan can not hold trials for crimes which were not committed on its soil.

"Pakistan can not hold trial of a crime which was committed outside its territory," The Daily Times quoted him, as saying.

Gilani also put down India's request of handing over the 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind, saying: "There is no question of handing over Pakistani prisoners to any other party. We would hold the trial in local courts." (ANI)
