Court to hear Raju's bail plea on Jan 16
Hyderabad, Jan 16: The bail petitions of disgraced Satyam chief B Ramalinga Raju, his brother, Ramaraju and former CFO Srinivas Vadlamani in the Rs 7,000 crore scam will be taken at a Hyderabad Court, on Friday, Jan 16.
Bharath Kumar, lawyer of Ramalinga Raju will appear seeking bail to Raju. The police will file a counter petition in the Hyderabad court to seek the custody of Raju. Three separate petitions are coming up for hearing in court on Friday, Jan 16.
Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has also filed a petition to interrogate Raju, while CID petition seeking their police custody. Bharath Kumar said he would oppose SEBI's plea to interrogate Raju.
As Raju doesn't have access to any records in jail, he needs a legal consultation prior to the interrogation which is impossible in custody, hence SEBI will have to wait till Raju comes out on bail for the further probe, S Bharath Kumar said.
However, SEBI allege that probe is being delayes as govt acted hastily in Raju's arrest.
