Baramulla, Jan 14: Muhammad Ahsan Dar, the founder of terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen was arrested in Jammu Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday, Jan 14. Dar founded the Hizbul Mujahideen, a guerrilla group in 1990. He was also the chief commander. In 1992, he was replaced by Syed Salahuddin, the present Chief Commander of the group who is based in Muzaffarabad in Pak administered Kashmir. Indian security forces have arrested Dar as head of a splinter group of the Hizbul Mujahideen in 1993 and released in 1997. Police believe that after his release he rejoined HM.
