JuD's charity veneer made possible due to Pak Govt's failure

Islamabad, Dec.18 (ANI): The newly banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) has succeeded in drumming up some support among the local community due to the failure of the Pakistan Government to meet the basic amenities of the people.

According to a commentary in the News, the government run schools are inadequate for the needs of a large community, there by allowing terror groups like Jamaat-ud-Daawa to mask their true identity by showing their humanitarian face.

JuD and others like it have been able to move deep into society by engaging in all kinds of well-run charitable activity and thus creating the perfect platform to sway the minds of people towards their ideological philosophy.

Pakistan may have sealed the offices and premises of JuD's various centers, but the group seems to have painted a different picture of itself among people of the country.

In the aftermath of the crackdown on JuD and the closure of its offices, various events that paint a vivid picture of Pakistan and its society have begun to emerge.

The fact is that organizations such as JuD and others like it seem to have been able to move deep into society by engaging in all kinds of well-run charitable activity and thus creating the perfect platform to build other ideas among people.

The reason why they have succeeded to a very great extent is linked to the failure of the state to meet the basic needs of its citizens.

The Government needs to consider whether this is in any way acting to weaken it by reducing its role in society and allowing others to elbow in. (ANI)
