TN Minister hospitalised, condition stable

Chennai, Nov 30 (UNI) Senior DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S Arumugham has been admitted to a private hospital here with breathing problems.

A medical bulletin, issued by the Apollo Hospitals here today, said Mr Arumugham was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit on the evening of November 28.

However, the bulletin did not specify the nature of ailment.

Party sources said he had been suffering from breathing problems and was put on ventilator.

The bulletin said Mr Arumugham was being treated by a panel of specialists and his present condition was stable.

The Minister's family has requested all visitors to strictly avoid visiting him at the hospital in view of his health condition.

Chief Minister and DMK President M Karuanidhi today visited his senior Cabinet colleague at the hospital and enquired about his health condition.

Mr Karunanidhi was accompanied by Ministers Arcot N Veerasamy, M K Stalin and K N Nehru, an official release said.
