Rs 99 cr sanctioned for HP under National Rural Health Mission
Shimla, Nov 28 (UNI) The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 99 crore to Himchal Pradesh under National Rural Health Mission, Himachal Health Minister Rajeev Bindal said today.
Presiding over a review meeting of Health Department here, Mr Bindal said work under this programme would be accelerated in the state to provide better health services to rural people at their door-steps.
He informed that Rogi Kalyan Samitis had been constituted in as many as 437 health institutions in the state.
He said decentralisation of powers has been done at different levels to ensure active participation of all officers and officials of the department besides smooth functioning of the department. The Rogi Kalyan Samitis would prove more beneficial in this regard, he added.
The Minister said a sum of Rs 16 crore had been earmarked to carry out various pending works through Rogi Kalyan Samitis in all primary and community health centres. Each sub centre would get Rs 20,000, Primary Health Centre Rs 1.50 lakh, Community Health Centre and Civil Hospital Rs 2.50 lakh whereas Rs 5 lakh would be given to each Zonal Hospital.
Dr Bindal further said to put complete check on female foeticides, the state government would fix targets in collaboration with Punjab and Haryana Governments and a meeting of officers of all three states would be held soon.
He called upon the officers participating in the meeting to implement all the health related projects and schemes in letter and spirit so that people of the state could be benefitted with better health services at their door-steps.
