'Ramsay's mistress wanted to see Cowell to further her career'

London, Nov 28 : Sarah Symonds, who is said to have had a seven-year affair with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, tried desperately to meet Simon Cowell - and use him to boost her career, it has emerged. Symonds tried to hire Cowell's PR consultant Max Clifford earlier this year to publicise her book 'Having An Affair? A Handbook For The Other Woman'.

However, Clifford has revealed that she was desperate to see music mogul Cowell.

The 'serial mistress' wanted him to turn the book into a TV show - and become a star, according to Clifford.

"Sarah was very keen to meet Simon, she kept asking as she thought he could help her make TV programmes," the Sun quoted Clifford, as saying.

"She had one other idea for a Desperate Housewives-type series," he added.

A source added: "It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see what Sarah would try if she had met Cowell. He had a lucky escape."
