Karunanidhi condemns 'Mumbai terror attacks'

Chennai, Nov 27: The Tamil Nadu Cabinet on Thursday, Nov 27 offered its condolences to the families of those killed in the terror attacks in Mumbai, even as Chief Minister M Karunanidhi condemned the incident.

Chaired by Mr Karunanidhi, the Cabinet, which met here this morning, offered its condolences after noting that more than 100 people were killed and about 187 injured in the attacks.

The Cabinet members observed silence for a minute as a mark of grief and offered their condolences to the bereaved families.

They also condoled the death of more than 80 people in the State following heavy rainfall.

Answering a set of questions, Mr Karunanidhi sternly condemned the terror attack and said it was a matter of regret the strike had taken place in the country when attempts were being made to wipe out terrorism from the world.

He offered his condolences to all those who were affected by the attack and expressed hope that both the Union and Maharashtra Governments would undertake relief and rescue operations on a war footing.
