Pakistan Foreign Minister arrives in India to 'build bridges'

New Delhi, Nov 27 : Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi who arrived in New Delhi for a four-day visit on Wednesday said that he expected hisnteractions with the top Indian leadership would yield positive results.

Qureshi arrived here a day after a meeting in Islamabad where both the countries discussed cooperation in efforts to fight terrorism as part of a wide-ranging dialogue aimed at resolving outstanding disputes.

Qureshi said he expected his visit to yield positive results.

"I am looking forward to my interaction with the Indian Foreign Minister and other leaders. So, I am expecting the visit to be very productive one," he added.

When asked about New Delhi's decision to call off Indian cricket team's Pakistan tour citing security situation in the neighbourhood, Qureshi told that Pakistan's doors were open for enhancing people-to-people contact.

Qureshi later called on his counterpart Pranab Mukherjee.

Foreign Ministry spokesman said in Islamabad on Tuesday that Qureshi would hold talks on all bilateral issues with the Indian leadership.

He will meet women journalists in Delhi. After that, he is scheduled to visit Chandigarh to attend a farmers'' association meet.

Qureshi, who is also the President of the Pakistan's Farmers'' Association, will deliver an address on the need for more cooperation between farmers of both countries.
