Koirala criticises Maoists' decision to go for ''Peoples Republic''
Kathmandu, Nov 27 (UNI) Former Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today strongly criticised the Maoists' decision to go for ''Peoples Republic''.
''Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' cannot, by ethics, speak against parliamentary democracy since he was elected through popular votes,'' Nepalnews quoted Mr Koirala as saying while speaking here today.
The Maoists had decided to go for ''Peoples Federal Democratic Republic System'', confusing many that the former rebels would introduce the Communist style dictatorial system.
Mr Koirala, who played a crucial role to bring the rebels in the peace process, has been critical to the Maoists after the former rebel party decided not to include Nepali Congress in the cabinet and form leftist alliance.
