Cold wave sweeps HP, road link to Lahual Valley restored
Shimla, Nov 27 (UNI) Cold wave swept across the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh where the minimum temperature in the tribal areas remained below freezing point.
Kalpa in the tribal district of Kinnaur was cold at -0.1 degree celsius. The minimum temperature in Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district continued to be in minus and the day temperature dipped further due to cloudy weather conditions.
Meanwhile, road connectivity to Lahaul valley through Rohtang Pass, which was suspended from last one week was today restored.
Cold wave swept the tourist resort of Manali where night temperature came down to 2.2 degrees Celsius. Bhuntar in Kullu district was cold at 2.2 degrees Celsius.
Icy winds also hit the lower parts of the state. Minimum temperature of Solan town was 3.8 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar was cold at 3.6 and Una at 4.7 degrees Celsius.
However, chilly weather relieved Shimla town where night temperautre was nine degrees Celsius. Dharamshala and Nahan recorded at 8.3 and 12.7 degrees Celsius respectively.
Met office has forcast mainly clear weather in the state for next 24 hours.
