Officer-in-charge sent to jail for taking bribe

Patna, Nov 26 (UNI) Special vigilance judge S K Panwar today sent to jail police officer Sanjay Kumar Choudhry, posted as officer- in-charge at Parvalpur police station of Nalanda district in connection with a bribery case.

The vigilance sleuths produced the accused before the court during the day.

The officer-in-charge was arested by a team of the officers of vigilance in Nalanda district yesterday when he was receiving Rs 10,000 from the jailor of Nalanda camp jail Jitendra Narayan Singh.

As per the charges, the officer-in-charge had demanded Rs 1 lakh from Mr Singh to discharge him in connection with a case related to the missing cartridges of 80 SLRs.

The officer-in-charge was caught red handed while accepting Rs 10,000 as first instalment of the bribe.
