SC stays arrest warrant against Todi till Dec 1
New Delhi, Nov 25 (UNI) The Supreme Court today suspended the arrest warrent issued against Kolkata based businessman Ashok Todi in Rizwanaur death case.
A bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balarishnan and Justice P Sathasivam directed the petitioner to seek regular bail from the court concerned after surrendering before the court on December 1.
Todi is facing allegations of abetment to suicide under Section 306 IPC.
Todi was opposed to the marriage of his daughter Priyanka Todi to Rizwanaur Rehman.
Rizwanaur committed suicide but according to his family members he was murdered.
The apex court also directed the local court in Kolkata to dispose of his bail application on marriage on December 1.
