President watches a Water Puppet Show

Ho Chi Minh City, Nov 25 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil today spared time to visit the Natural History Museum and watched a 'water puppet show' in this city.

At the museum, Ms Patil showed keen interest to know more about the city's history which dates back to the Champa civilisation (seventh century).

In the visitors books, President described the treasures kept at the museum as, '' quite interesting and instructive giving deep insight into the history of Vietnam.'' Ms Patil said she was very happy that the museum had artefacts from the Champa Civilisation, the result of an entirely peaceful encounter between India and Vietnam.

The 'water puppet show' provides a charming insight into the daily lives of the people and must be reckoned as a unique facet of the Vietnamese culture, she remarked.
